ESCAPE FROM THE CITY - DAY TRIP TO SCRIBE WINERY
While most of the country is yearning for fall breezes and pumpkin spice lattes, here in San Francisco we've been freezing all "summer" long!
The answer; a trip up to Sonoma to escape the fog and enjoy the sun and wine at Scribe Winery.
Palm trees, fresh peaches, wine! Yes. Yes to all of it!
Let's talk about the ambience babes. I know, I know, you go to a winery for the wine. But let's be honest a beautiful venue can make an experience. And maybe it's just me but I'm pretty sure wine tastes better when you're enjoying it while over looking acres of vineyards. Scribe's ambience is right up my alley with an old Spanish California vibe that feels like its been there for centuries. And an attention to design detail that I greatly appreciate. Like there vintage metal "picnic baskets" with a shibori linen lining. Everything they present to you has an effortless california cool feel to it. They're speaking my love language here.
As for the wine, it did not disappoint either. I'm not typically a white wine drinker, and maybe it was the sunshine, or maybe it was the architecture... But we had a flight of 4 whites and I thought they were all fantastic! Including a reisling which if you know me, you know a reisling is well out of my drinking style. The major highlight for me was Scribe's skin fermented chardonnay(another surprise for me!) which was kinda funky in a really great way.
All in all the trip was the brief glimpse into summer I had been craving and I'll definitely be going back.
Any other SF babes know of good places to feel some summer sun outside of the city?
